This month I am reading two books, “The Selfish Gene” by Richard Dawkins and “God is not Great – How Religion Poisons Everything” by Christopher Hitchens.
As a free, and critical thinker myself, I find these authors fascinating in both their literary but also philosophical works.
These two books are eye-opening to say the least, as while I identify as both a Humanist and an Atheist, I still feel there are some things we cannot know, but it is foolhardy and unwise to attribute such things to seemingly metaphysical/mythical/otherwise unproveable/untestable causes.
I highly recommend them, especially in audio-book form as both authors are eloquent and articulate in relaying the discourse of both books in their own unique style that is attributed to them.
EDIT: For “God is not Great”, I suggest the audiobook read by Hitchens himself. A thoroughly enjoyable listen.
